Residential Treatment

Monarch Center for Autism

Bellefaire JCB offers two residential programs for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder:
  • Monarch Boarding Academy (QRTP)
  • Monarch Psychiatric Residential Therapeutic Treatment Unit (PRTF).  Youth eligible for placement in our PRTF must be referred directly through Aetna OhioRISE. 
Monarch Boarding Academy provides a therapeutic and educational setting for youth who have
  • A primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other Intellectual/Developmental Disorder (I/DD) that includes symptoms/features consistent with ASD
  • Demonstrated self-injurious, risk-taking and/or aggressive behaviors
  • Demonstrated co-morbid mood disturbances that is secondary to ASD
  • Demonstrated deficits in activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Demonstrated deficits in judgement and problem-solving skills that impact one’s ability to maintain safety

 

Behavioral Health Residential

Bellefaire JCB offers two behavioral health residential programs specializing in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Intensive Treatment Units (QRTP)
  • Stabilization Critical Care Unit (QRTP)

The Intensive Treatment Units and Stabilization Critical Care Unit provides a therapeutic and educational setting for youth who have:

  • Significant mental health and psychiatric needs
  • Demonstrated self-injurious, risk-taking and/or aggressive behaviors
  • Co-occurring mental health and substance abuse
  • Broad IQ ranges, including those lower than 70
  • Experienced trauma and abuse
  • Attachment issues
  • Borderline personality traits
  • High functioning Autism and co-occurring mental health 
Admission Considerations

While our residential service array can serve youth with a wide variety of issues, our programs are not appropriate for youth struggling with the following:

  • Sexual offending behaviors
  • Significant fire-setting behaviors
  • Active and diagnosed eating disorders
  • Severe aggression with weapons
  • Pregnant youth
  • Primary substance use disorder or in need of medical detox
  • Significant medical issues beyond the scope of our medical team

Additionally,  Bellefaire's Intensive Treatment and Stablization Critical Care Units cannot serve:

  • Youth with significant ASD presentations (ASD2/ASD 3 with high support needs). 
  • Youth with FS IQs below 40 (50/60?) or with significant cognitive impairments that would impact their ability to fully grasp the concepts of our DBT curriculum.
The Cost of Residential Treatment

Families frequently partner with outside stakeholders and treatment team members to fund residential treatment. Common funding partners include:

  • School districts
  • County children service boards
  • County family and children first councils
  • OhioRISE
  • Juvenile court systems
  • Private Pay

Bellefaire does not accept commercial insurance for residential treatment.
